Telehealth services are critical in Mental Health during COVID-19 outbreak

Being concerned about the news is understandable, but for many people it can make existing mental health problems worse.

It’s important to understand the importance of taking care of your emotional well being during this time. If you, or any member of your family feels you are having a difficult time coping or managing your stress, anxiety, depression, or suicidal ideation, you don’t have to wait to physically see a counselor or psychiatrist. It can be done via telehealth from home and from your smartphone or computer for convenience.

Isolation and social pressure can trigger some depression and panic attacks.

Here are some recommendations for your mental health during the outbreak:

-Limit social media exposure and avoid watching, listening, and reading news that could cause you feel anxious, stressed, or depressed.

– Practice calming techniques, such as meditation, breathing techniques, drawing, painting, playing a musical instrument that you have forgotten about.

– Exercise and eat healthy, reevaluate your diet, pay attention to yourself

-It’s a great time to reevaluate your time and spend with your family members and kids by doing some fun activities.

– Connect and bond on your personal relationship. It’s time to talk and spend quality time together with your significant person.

-We forgot about laughing, telling jokes, watching funny or positive movies together.

-How about your friends or neighbors you always wanted to catch up with but never had time. Maybe, they need your attention and help, and finally, you can contact them and help them with something.

-Re-evaluate your life values and goals. Maybe, after this outbreak (and yes, it will end sometimes), your goals and values would change.

-Try to find as many beautiful and joyful things in every moment of the day to change the focus per your wish and control that you would like your life to go from now on. That way, you are creating mindfulness and meaningful life.
